The project

Kraft Heinz needed its rail spur moved to make room for growth. Well over a mile of multi-track spur, tied into the mainline, had to be relocated so an 800,000 sf building with multiple rail docks could be built where the old track stood.

Scope

  • Relocation of a multi-track rail spur tied into the mainline
  • Civil site development
  • A new covered rail dock

Our role

  • Field observation on the owner's behalf, checking that the work matched the drawings and specifications as it went in
  • A written daily field log with photos, so the owner always knew where the job stood

Result

Finished on schedule, clearing the way for the new 800,000 sf building.
